The Annual Woodsmen Rugby Day at the Chicago Wolves Hockey game has been confirmed for Saturday February 7.

Team Dinner

We will be meeting at 7PM this Friday Night at Real Time Sports for a team dinner. Real Time Sports has agreed to provide us with Hambergers, Hot Dogs, and Pasta with Coke for the price of $12 per person.

1st Match - Chicago Griffens

The game starts at 1:00 PM at Busse Woods, enter off of Golf Rd. Everyone should be there at 11:30AM to help set up the pitch and be ready to warm up at 12:00PM. After game we will host the Griffen's at Real Time Sports at 1120 W. Devon Ave.

Spring Poker Classic 5PM!

This event will be even better than the last! Last time we had 26 players! I hope to reach 50 this event!

Entry: $50 ($35 entry - $10 team - $5 player bounty)

There will be a $40 optional rebuy for the first hour and a half!

Skydiving Team building Event

Skydiving on June 7th. This event will cost between $169 and $199 depending on how many we get confirmed to go 2 days prior to the event. A $50 deposit is due as soon as you know you will be coming! This event is open to all friends, spouses, girlfriends, etc.

Go to SKYDIVE CHICAGO and register in the upper right corner. Once you have registered go to >>ACCOUNT>>TANDOM REGISTRATION. At the bottom select "Join an existing tandem skydiving group" and click continue. Select June 7th and enter group # 128579 then click continue. Pay your deposit and welcome to some fun!

Youth and HS rugby Camp

Young Ruggers! Learn and develop your rugby skills at camp this summer!

The program will run at the Schaumburg Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, Schaumburg, IL, 60193 on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8pm July 8 through August 12.

Irish Fest

The Team will work the Irish Fest to show our support and potentially recruit.

The celebration of all things Irish kicks off three fun-filled days of music, dance, food, and fun in historic downtown Long Grove.

Live performances throughout the event feature well known Irish musicians, as well as Irish step dancing from the area’s finest dancing schools

Winter Indoor Conditioning

Referee Clinic

The CARFU Referee Society will be offering a Level 1 Officiating Course on February
20th, 2010. Registration and check in is at 8:00am and the course will last to
approximately 5:00pm.
Location is the Chicago Hope Academy, 2431 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago, IL. Enter
through the main double doors in the front of the building. There is plentiful free parking
along Roosevelt on both sides of the road.

Course fee, with checks made out to CARFU Referee Society, is $75. Receipts will be
provided. The fee covers all USA fees ($50), lunch, beverages, and site rental.

Individuals interested in attending should send their name, address, phone number, and
email address to David Carter at dave@rockriverservice.com.

Deadline for registration is February 4th, 2009 and preregistration is required.

Benefit for Logan

All,
I ask that each of you take a moment to consider the following message.

While most of you have met my wife Kylie and probably enjoyed her company in some form as photographer, team mom, cook, etc., what you may not know is the tragedy that has befallen her family this past year.

This past January 17th, her sister Louise was returning from vacation with her son, boyfriend Tom and his parents when the car they were travelling in lost control. Louise, Tom, and Steve(Tom’s father) were killed. The only solace from this accident is that two lives were spared. I am writing to you today on behalf of one of these survivors. Logan Evans Padden has celebrated his first birthday with family, but not his parents.

Through the generosity of the family Kylie works for, an evening dedicated to the benefit of Logan is being held on August 4, 5:30-9pm at The Privét Nightclub in Chicago. Hors d’oeuvres and coctails will be provided. A silent auction is available throughout the evening.

If you have the ability, I hope you can join us on this evening.
